ABC EXPRESS COURIER LTD (ABEX) (35% SHAREHOLDING)

ABC Express Courier, otherwise known as ABEX Express Parcel Services, was incorporated in Nigeria in 1997 and licensed by the Nigerian Postal Service – NIPOST. ABEX specializes in the rapid documents/ parcels delivery nationwide and internationally, with a network spanning across Nigeria. ABEX comprises dynamic, experienced and professionally qualified personnel and employs over 250 staff. Associated Bus Company Plc has 35% shareholding in ABEX Express Courier Ltd.

TRAFFIC ROOM
All ABC transport terminals are equipped with UHF radio, manned 24 hours. This room is for communication, and monitoring of passenger/cargo traffic, and speed control, and is coordinated from a Hub (in Owerri), which is equipped with GPS tracking facilities.

TRAFFIC & SAFETY
Is a unit under operations and is responsible for monitoring and ensuring safe driving, and adherence to safety standard. They embark on regular patrol along the operated routes.

ABC Transport, as a customer-focused company, greatly relies on a synergy of highly creative, diligent and ambition-driven personnel. It is the policy of the company to invest in manpower development.

STAFF STRENGTH
The company employs over 1,000 permanent and non-permanent staff drawn from various tribes and tongues, and recruited with the highest consideration of merit, qualification and experience.

TRAINING
ABC recognises human asset as a significant variable in its overall service delivery and productivity, thus resources are purposefully channeled towards manpower training/development. It especially recognizes drivers as the key to its success, and thus, driver’s training is given top priority.

DRIVERS TRAINING ACADEMY (DTA)
The DTA is involved with training, testing, evaluation and certification of coach drivers for ABC Transport and the larger society. Accredited by the FRSC, the Drivers Training Academy seeks to lay emphasis on good and safe driving practices, create awareness of the prevailing road traffic laws, rules and regulations and to train drivers to avoid dangerous chances, and mastery of vehicles. The Academy is equipped with technically qualified and experienced instructors who understand modern training and presentation techniques.
