FROM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR

GREATER EXPECTATIONS AHEAD

We have started the Next Level, which, as we are now aware of, is the most critical stage of our corporate life, on a remarkably good note. Our projections and plans are falling in place accordingly. Our share value is appreciating commendably well on the stock market, and our brand is assuming a larger-than-life outlook. We have commissioned our ultra-modern terminal in the heart of Anambra State – Onitsha. We are now fully operational in Calabar, managing a luxurious urban mass transit system in conjunction with the Cross River State Government. Recall our grand plan to achieve an accelerated growth, service expansion into the mass market and exploring new business frontiers. Management has, no doubt, not rested on its oars. Thus, our esteemed staff should keep at it.

The year 2007 promises a plethora of harvests. We cannot be caught feeling too smug. We should continue to fix our vision on the future, because there is still so much our company can achieve; still so much out there for us to optimize and leave a more-lasting impression in the minds of every Nigerian. Charles Kettering said that we should “give a lot of thought to the future” because that is where we are going to spend the rest of our lives. For us in ABC Transport, we have to press on. Press on towards sustaining and preserving our much-prized name and laurels. And still leave behind a legacy; that is the whole essence of life. Is it not? I think we all ought to pass on something worthwhile for the future generation.

We are in a new quarter. So much is still expected of us. Let us try to surpass not only the expectations and needs of our customers but also those expectations demanded of us. In so doing, we can smile and commend ourselves for the full realization of our corporate goals. Let us not forget our corporate vision of becoming West Africa’s premium coach, cargo and hospitality provider but sustain every productive effort towards achieving this noble goal. Let all our intentions remain selfless, broad, all-inclusive and forward-thinking.  This is the image that a business must have of its goals before it sets out to reach them. I believe in our potentials, talents and skills. I believe we can get there. I believe it is just a matter of time and then all our aspirations for the future will be satisfied. Our desired ends are really in sight, so close at hand. Let us not waver.
