ABC PARTNERS WITH CROSS RIVER STATE ON THE CALABAR URBAN MASS TRANSIT SCHEME
ABC Transport has partnered with the Cross River State Government to operate the newly-introduced Calabar Urban Mass Transit Scheme (CUMT). Inaugurating the Calabar Urban Mass Transit Scheme on the 1st of March 2007, the Government of Cross River State appointed ABC Transport to manage the scheme. Present at the occasion of the inauguration was the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Mr Donald Duke and His wife - Onari Duke; the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Elder Walter Eneji; Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Cross River State, Mr Eyo Ekpo; MD/CEO of ABC Transport, Mr Frank Nneji, OON and some Management staff; representatives of MB-ANAMMCO and other eminent personalities.
The Calabar Urban Mass Transit Scheme is a project established by the Cross River State Government to alleviate the transport problems in the state capital by injecting into the system high capacity buses to ply active routes in Calabar. The scheme also aims to upgrade the transport system to be as operational as the ones in existence in advanced countries. The Metro Blues will boost tourism when Tinapa Business Resort takes up finally.
