NEW YEAR – A NEW LEVEL; THE NEXT LEVEL

Time flies. 2006 has finally come and gone. We are left with only its memories, sweet or bitter. We have started another operational year – all to the glory of God. As we commence the year 2007, I would like, on behalf of the Board and Management, to express my appreciation to all staff whose dedication, diligence and loyalty have moved our company to the next level. We could not have come this far had it not been for your commitment to our shared values and vision. Thank you.

Every New Year brings us face to face with a new level. This level either makes or mars our resolve to succeed within the myriad of obstacles and challenges besetting our road to progress and prosperity.

It is only when we have decided not to waver, but to hold fast to our corporate goals, can we rise above the storms of life. There will be clouds, shadows, and dark days; yet there will always appear a silver lining, a rainbow.

This next level is symbolic. In fact, it is the era of post-IPO and consolidation of our PLC status. Despite the business challenges of the year 2006, the future has never been this bright and promising. The horizon, thus, offers us ample opportunities to grow business, revenue and profitability. Remember, it is only the optimist that sees the gold in every situation.

This next level is the most critical stage of our corporate life. Now people have invested in our company, what next? This question must spur us, not intimidate us. Yes, we have the quality manpower; we have the logistics. We have our bearing, but are these enough? Questions will abound this 2007 because so much is now at stake. Complacency among staff should not even be tolerated.

Recall that we intend to pursue an accelerated growth, a service expansion into the mass market, and a geographical expansion to other parts of the country and the continent of Africa. We have already started, though. We have introduced the Eastern Shuttle Service, Aba/Umuahia-Abuja direct operations and established ultra-modern terminals in Port Harcourt and Onitsha. Hence, our continuous strategy for success is to retain our unrivalled position as the leading operator of road transport services in the West Coast of Africa. This we cannot compromise.

This informed our model of Key Performance Indicators (KPI); our desire to re-acquaint ourselves with those principles that will standardize our operations, reinforce our brand as the number one coach transport operator, and reposition us to the very NEXT LEVEL.

Indeed, this next level is also the era of achievement of results, targets and performance. Let us remain pro-active. Enjoy this edition of the newsletter and accept my best wishes for the New Year.

Moving Up To The Next Level In 2007: Tips You Must Embrace

\
It is a year of achievement, when your loftiest dream will come true. Did I hear you say a big Amen? Now do not be downcast and cynical about the year, just because your noble efforts amounted to little last year. The fact that our past has numerous scars of failure, painful experiences and tales of woe is no reason for you to become a pessimist. Remember, when there is life there is hope! For me, I am more determined whether anyone is deriding my efforts, laughing, scornfully, or criticizing my worth while goals, I w would not be distracted. I choose to stay focused, unrelenting, determined, persistent, and prayerful. So must you, otherwise, you will drown in the pool of adversity. You just might be at the threshold of unusual blessings, so hang in there. Meanwhile, I suggest you embrace the under-listed tips:

SET UP YOUR PERSONAL VALUE: This is not a year for mediocrity or shoddiness. If you want to move to the next level, you must consciously increase your worth, because yesterday’s glory is like a peanut compared to what lies ahead. So, consciously seek to improve yourself. Perhaps, it is time you registered for that professional exam or course that you know will give you a competitive edge in you r career. Reading is inevitable, as it will quench the fire of ignorance in your life. Make a commitment to read everyday, so as to keep yourself well informed about happenings in your field or in the society. Also improve in your communication skills; comportment, confidence, poise and general demeanour need brushing up. Make yourself a plus not a minus to your organisation, family and society this year.

IMPROVE YOUR PHYSICAL LOOKS: Looking good in 2007 is inevitable for you to move to the next level. This is not a year for your mouth to ooze bad stench when communicating with others. Just look good presentable! I am not saying that you should dress expensively to prove a point. No! What you need is a conscious commitment to make yourself look the best. Also your inner state of mind counts, so get rid of all the envy, bitterness, hatred, malice and strife of yester years. Peace of mind will enhance your looks.
