STAFF CHAT AND BIRTHDAYS
Mr. John Ndubuisi Onyeugo joined the company in January 2001 as a technician. He is happily married and blessed with two children. His experience with the company over the years has made it possible for him to specialize in strategic technical areas and also equipped him as a team player. He has witnessed the expansion of technical works across the terminals. He is grateful to God for granting him good health which has enabled him in executing his duties perfectly. Mr Onyeugo’s contribution to the company over the years is personified in his nickname “Toying Van” because he made sure that buses that brake down on transit secured and put in order. He is glad that toying vans are now available to move broken down buses to safety. This gentleman rates ABC Transport as the best among the whole transport companies in Nigeria. He foresees further growth in the company and its emergence as a major player in the National economy. He expects to see ABC Transport venture into Air and Sea transport business. Mr. John advocates for cooperation among the staff because it propagates team work and facilitates achievement of the company’s goal. Knowledge expansion in his field is one of his biggest achievements in ABC. Outlining the major criteria for performance and promotion; he underlined punctuality, hard work, sincerity and knowledge as pre-requisites for job appraisal and promotion. He went further to solicit for general improvement in staff welfare. Mr. Onyeugo is concerned about the outstanding trainee-technicians who are never considered for immediate employment. He wants the company to assimilate them instead of employing inexperienced technicians.
Mr. Mike Nzealor (Nze) is from Uvuru, Aboh Mbaise in Imo State. He is a luxury coach driver and joined the Company in January 2000. He takes his experiences in a ABC as an hobby, that is he enjoys doing his work with satisfaction. He said that ABC is noted for its conducive environment void of evil practices. Ever since he joined the Company, he has lived comfortably with his family. He has also travelled wide and far, and mixed up with different tribes in the West and North of Nigeria. He has pride himself as turning the Company forward and making customers satisfied with the Company’s services. He believes that ABC has a good, innovative and improved working environment, and hopes that in the next five years ABC would be a training school for other road transporters to learn from. He thinks that if he has a chance in management, he will introduce fairness, justice in handling stiff issues, no favouritism and correction before punishment is assigned to offender. He urges staff to shun taking hard drug, drinking while on duty and encourages friendly disposition, have enough rest before any trip and for those in the offices, there should be teamwork and no victimization from superior officers
Mrs Callista Nwamadi is married from Umouohie-Ukwu Eziama Okpala in Imo State. She is blessed with beautiful children. She joined the Company in 1995 as a ticketing officer. She has had a goodtime working with the Company and she is proud to be in ABC Transport because of the status of the company. She has gained a lot from the company such as being exposed to lot of people and she has had the opportunity to help and be helped. Mrs Nwamadi has contributed immensely to the Company by training and accommodating staff who did not have any place to stay. She has also emphasized fraud during training to discourage new staff from defrauding the Company. She said that the Company has tried in the area of moving people from one place to the other, but has to carry staff along, especially the junior staff. Management should motivate junior staff by giving them incentives to encourage them to work. He sees ABC in the next five years as a competitive company where everybody would want to work and invest in. She also sees a new Management strategy. If given a chance in Management, she would introduce Staff Welfare Board to look into Staff private needs as this will make staff to be happy, she would also introduce Housing Loan to help Staff solve their accommodation problems. Her greatest achievement is the job experiences she has had working in the company. She encourages staff to be dedicated to their jobs, have friendly disposition to customers and put the Company in prayers always.
