COMMISSIONER COMMENDS ABC TRANSPORT
-Drivers, Attendants Honoured

The Honourable Commissioner of Works & Housing in Imo State, Chief Goddy Esom Obodo, has commended ABC Transport Plc for sustaining and implementing its corporate policy on safety and the training of drivers. This commendation came at the occasion of its 2006 Non-Accident Bonus/Award Ceremony. He also commended the MD/CEO of ABC Transport Plc for introducing the Non Accident Free Bonus and recognizing drivers and other members of the driving crew. He commended the Management of ABC Transport to its drivers and attendants. A lot of encomium was poured on ABC during the speeches of the various invited guests. Chief Obodo highlighted Government’s commitment in ensuring that more good roads are constructed in Imo State.

The Award Ceremony was held on the 20th of June at the conference room of Modotels and attracted lots of dignitaries, including the Chief press Secretary to the Governor, Chief Bright Nwelue, representative of the Director General, Imo State orientation Agency, Sir Angus Oguike, the Sector Commander, FRSC, Cmdr. Zakari and the MD, Vincon International Promotions, Prince Vincon Uwakwe Uwandu and the top Management & Staff of ABC Transport Plc.

The Chairman, Engr. (DR) E.N Amasike, showered compliments on ABC Transport Plc and its strive to uphold excellence in the road transport industry. In response, the MD/CEO, ABC Transport Plc, Mr. Frank Nneji, OON, appreciated the presence of the dignitaries and their support to the growth of the company. He also congratulated all the awardees and urged them to continue to adhere to safety standards, while the company, on its own part, will evolve ways to continue to ensure and implement sound policies on safety and training and re-training of the driving crew. He reminded them that they are the Real Managers of the company and urged them to ensure safety during the course of their operations.

The Assistant General Manager, Human resources, Mr. Solomon Ologunja, used the occasion to intimate the drivers on the Pension Fund Administration (PFA) of the company and told them to collect forms from the Head Office. Certificates were given to 23 bus drivers and 13 bus attendants. It was indeed a fun-filled event as well wishers and families felicitated with the awardees.
