ABC TRANSPORT RECEIVES ENCOMIUM FOR ESTABLISHING ULTRA MODERN TERMINAL IN  ONITSHA

The Honourable Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport in Anambra State, Dr. Nkemakolam Okeke, has expressed satisfaction to the Management of ABC Transport, while praising the Managing Director/CEO of ABC Transport, Mr Frank Nneji, OON, for establishing an ultra modern terminal in Onitsha. This praise came at the commissioning of the terminal on the 8th of March, 2007. Dr Nkemakolam Okeke stated that ABC Transport is a good example of Nigerian innovation at its best. He highlighted the need for government support for private firms such as ABC Transport in Anambra State.

The commissioning of the Onitsha ultra terminal, which took place at the terminal, along the Onitsha-Asaba Expressway, opposite Ogbaru  Main Market, Upper Iweka Fly-over, attracted dignitaries from the Government House, such as the Commissioner for Commerce and Tourism, representing His Excellency, the Governor of Anambra State; Hon. Chima Okafor; the Head of Service, Anambra State – Mrs. Melifono Ngozi; the Anambra State Assembly House Committee Chairman on Transport – Hon. Mike Offor; Chairperson of NLC in Anambra State; top businessmen; heads of schools; officers of the Federal Road Safety Corp and the Police. Other personalities included some top Management of ABC Transport and press corps. Cultural groups, customers, member of the Road transport associations in Onitsha added colours to this remarkable event.

The Managing Director, ABC Transport, Mr. Frank Nneji, OON, thanked the Government and people of Anambra State for the peaceful business atmosphere and appreciated all the dignitaries for making out time to commission the new terminal. He noted that Onitsha “is the centre of ABC Transport’s eastern business and is a springboard for regional development in the current national economic growth.” The high point of this landmark event was the official opening of the terminal by His Excellency, Governor of Anambra state, ably represented by Honourable Chima Okafor
